Some weddings carry a quiet kind of magic – the kind you don’t need to explain, you just feel it in the room. Julie and Chris’s day at Etienne & The Landmark was just that. It was timeless and elegant, with styling inspired by Vogue, but what made it truly special were the layers of tradition, intention, and love woven into every part of the celebration.
From the beginning, Julie knew she wanted a wedding that felt elevated and fashion-forward without losing the warmth of personal meaning. Her soft blue heels as a “something blue,” the sleek black-and-white palette, and a reception space styled to perfection all reflected her love for thoughtful, editorial design. But beyond the beauty, this day was full of deeply rooted cultural traditions that told the story of her family and heritage.

As part of Armenian custom, the morning began with joy and ceremony. Her brother helped her into her shoes, her mother circled the veil around her head in blessing, and family members played their roles with pride and playfulness – including a lighthearted “shoe stealing” moment between families. Music filled the driveway as the groom’s loved ones arrived with flowers, sweets, and gifts – setting the tone for a day that honored connection just as much as celebration.
The ceremony and reception were a beautiful balance of modern design and personal touch. One of the most emotional moments of the evening came during a violin performance, played by Julie’s cousin in memory of her late father. A seat was saved for him in the front row – a simple but powerful reminder of presence and love.

One of my favorite parts of the day was watching Julie and Chris take in the reception space together for the first time. That quiet pause before the evening unfolded, standing side by side in the room they had dreamt up, was something I’ll never forget. This day was a reminder that beauty isn’t just in the details – it’s in the people, the traditions, and the meaning behind it all.
