I had the honor of capturing Ashley and Preston’s engagement photoshoot at the Row DTLA, an iconic location that perfectly enhanced the love and energy shared between this amazing couple. We captured moments all around this downtown location, from the bustling crosswalk, to in front of a charming flower store, from atop the parking structure with a breathtaking DTLA skyline, and finally, to a cozy pizza restaurant where we cheered to their love over a margherita pizza. The photoshoot began at the heart of Row DTLA, right on the bustling crosswalk. Ashley and Preston’s chemistry was palpable from the moment they stepped onto the concrete stripes. The energy of the Row seemed to amplify their love as they held hands, exchanged sweet glances, and shared laughter amidst the urban cacophony.

The crosswalk setting allowed for a creative play with depth and framing. We used the contrasting urban environment to our advantage, with the surrounding buildings serving as a dynamic backdrop for their affectionate moments. The natural sunlight filtering through the trees and businesses added a beautiful warmth to the images, casting soft shadows that accentuated their connection. Ashley and Preston’s smiles radiated genuine happiness, and I was able to capture the authenticity of their relationship in each photograph. As a wedding photographer, it’s moments like these that remind me of the magic of love and how it can thrive amidst the hustle and bustle of city life.

Our next stop was the charming flower shop tucked away in Row DTLA. Ashley and Preston’s love story was full blossoming, and what better place to symbolize this growth than in front of a florist’s haven. The vibrant colors and sweet fragrances surrounding them perfectly complimented the romantic atmosphere of their engagement photoshoot.

The flower shop provided an intimate and cozy setting for their photos. As a photographer, I appreciate the way the rich colors of the flowers contrasted with Ashley and Preston’s attire, creating a striking visual composition. We captured intimate moments as they strolled outside the shop, each bloom representing a new chapter in their relationship.

As the sun continued to set, we headed to the top of the parking structure at Row DTLA. The golden rays became more vibrant, & the Los Angeles skyline started to light up, creating a breathtaking backdrop for our photographs. To make this moment even more special, Ashley and Preston brought along a bottle of champagne to celebrate their love and the city they both adore.

The rooftop setting allowed us to capture the sprawling cityscape of DTLA in the background, with Ashley and Preston sharing a champagne toast in the foreground. The combination of the urban skyline and their joyous expressions created a visual narrative of their love story merging with the city they hold dear.

As a photographer, I was able to play with the natural light as it danced across the skyscrapers. The changing hues of the sky, from the warm, golden tones of the setting sun to the cool blues of twilight, added depth and drama to the photographs. It was a magical moment, and I felt privileged to be there to document it.

After the breathtaking rooftop photoshoot, we headed to a cozy pizza restaurant in Row DTLA to wrap up the day. The restaurant was filled with warmth and nostalgia, providing a relaxed backdrop for candid moments. We captured Ashley and Preston sharing a margherita pizza, laughing over shared memories, and gazing into each other’s eyes with promises of a future together. These photographs conveyed the depth of their connection and the comfort they found in each other’s company.

Ashley and Preston’s Row DTLA engagement photoshoot was a testament to the power of love in the heart of a bustling city. From the crosswalk to the flower shop, the rooftop champagne toast with the DTLA skyline, and the cozy pizza restaurant, every moment was a reflection of their unique connection.

As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and diverse setting to capture their love story. Their DTLA engagement photoshoot was a celebration of not only their love but also the vibrant city that played witness to their journey.

In the end, it’s moments like these that remind me why I love being a wedding photographer. Love is universal, but each love story is unique and deserves to be celebrated and preserved in a way that captures its essence.
